The Transfiguration

Jesus is given a glimpse of the glorious exodus he would lead through his death and personal sacrifice into a triumphant deathless state, a magnificent transformation, a metamorphosis from weak mortal nature, into a strong glorious magnificent, brilliant, dazzling, radiating beauty. To become the brightness of His glory, the express image of his person. The miraculous prediction of the Lords most incredible triumph over human nature, sin and death.

  1. 1. Moses and Elijah were up on the mountain because they both had led major Exoduses BUT Jesus is going to lead the ultimate Exodus.
    2. Jesus wanted to share his glory and power with his best friends because it was a special moment and it’s like when we have a baptism we want all our friends there to remember it!
    3.(KJV) Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17 4. We can learn from the transfiguration because our lives can be transfigured and changed into better people!
    5. Do not doubt that God will not wash away our sins because He will always come down that mountain and he will ALWAYS heal us this is shown through the example of the Transfiguration when Jesus came down the mountain.
    6. the de piles were arguing because they were debating who was going to sit next to Jesus in the kingdom 7. I am looking forward to flying on Eagles wings, riding on lions backs and swimming with the Dolphins also ruling the mountains with the Gorillas and snuggling up with the Koalas!!!!

  2. Q.1. Moses and Elijah appeared because God was showing that Jesus was higher than the “law” (Moses) and the “prophets” (Elijah).
    Q.2. So that they could have a glimpse into the future when the kingdom comes.
    Q.3. Proverbs: 27v 17 “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”
    Q.4. That Jesus is the messiah and that he now had power over everything, including the Law and Prophets.
    Q.5. That we can break out of our human nature and be in God’s kingdom.
    Q.6. Because only three of them were there at the transfiguration and they thought they were better than the others.

That there will be no more suffering and disease and everything will be like it was in the garden of Eden, Isaiah: 40v 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. That is the sort of thing I’m looking forward to.

  3. 1. Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus to encourage him to stand firm in trouble 2. Seeing Jesus in all his glory would have strengthened the disciples for the hard times ahead.
    3. A verse I found in Proverbs cheering one another up like ion sharpens ion 4. The Transfiguration reminds us that god has chosen Jesus to be the ruler of the kingdom.
    5. Jesus is compassionate, he can heal, and overcome sin.
    6. Perhaps the disciples were jealous of each other.
    7. I’m looking forward to meeting Jesus and riding on a lion.

  4. 1 Moses and Elijah appeared on the mountaintop show that Jesus was greater then the law and the prophets.
    2 so they could see what the kingdom would be like.

    4we learn how great Jesus is and and soon he will be ruler over the kingdom 5that we clan overcome the human nature and have a chance to be in Gods kingdom because God is compassionate and loving 6they were fighting over who would be the greatest they were probably jealous of each other.
    7 I would like to be in the kingdom because I could meet all the heroes of old like Joshua, David, Samson and so on.

    2. Jesus was transfigured before his disciples to share what the kingdom would be like.

    5. Jesus can heal sick people including our human nature.

    6. They thought they were better because they saw it.

    7. Really looking forward to seeing Jesus and his hands.
